DESCRIPTION:On October 10, 2023, at 1 PM, the Tuesday Musical Club will partner with the Violins of Hope in a program to be held in Levy Hall of Congregation Rodef Shalom in Pittsburgh. The program will feature solo status Tuesday Musical Club string players performing on the traveling instruments with pianist Nanette Kaplan Solomon in compositions written by Holocaust victims, or in commemoration of them. Works will include a string quartet by Erwin Schulhoff or Gideon Klein, a serenade for violin and piano by Robert Dauber, a piano trio or piano quintet by Mieczyslaw Weinberg, and shorter works by Hans Krasa and Pavel Haas. In light of October being the fifth anniversary of the Tree of Life massacre, and the venue being Rodef Shalom, this concert will be a meaningful and serendipitous collaboration.\nTickets\nNo ticket required\n
